Biological Joint Reconstruction Department treats sport injuries, pain syndromes in knee and ankle joints and other diseases of motor system. In case of broken limbs and twisted joints we use innovative solutions, significantly reducing time of reconvalescence and return to the preoperative activity. The newest and the most advanced techniques of medicine are used in BJRD, also biological methods, which accelerate regeneration of degenerated structures. In Department are carried out miniinvasive surgeries of knee and ankle joints, called arthroscopy. To repair osteochondral lesions the surgeons practise techniques mostly based on tisuee engineering.
BJRD conducts both scientific and medical activities. High- qualified staff and availability of innovative and modern diagnostic and medical devices provide the best standards of service. As the union, located in St. Luke’s Hospital, we have access to MR scaner 3.0 T, X-Ray and ultarsound.
All procedures are strictly defined in the protocols of medical experiments and clinical trials and always their goal is to ensure, that members of the reasearch team work in respect of Good Clinical Practice, ICK and Declaration of Helsinky (2008).
